JLC is in the French part of Switzerland and....
Due to that a lot of their people speak French as first language.
A lot of their documentation and communication between each other is because of that in French, especially in the early days.
My guess is that when JLC reintroduced the Memovox in to the catalogue back in the 1990's they used:
"Reveil" and "Automatique" as an homage to their "roots".
While the official name for this one was Master Memovox.
Reveil was not printed on the black dial version, only on the silver dial/closed case back version as VinnieD shows above.

Looks so good it's crazy. This is one of those times. It's a classic forever.
Even JLC looses the track... Yours has been unveiled in 2010.

But I also have a question about the series with the gold medal back: Did JLC number the series even though they weren’t limited? Saw one with a very low number, 0063 if I remember correct. A very early one?

Nice pair of Memovox - at some point I'd like an automatic one.
