I've been wondering the same. I'm not convinced the Quadriptyque is a halo model... or if it is it's not one for us...

It is certainly is an amazing work but it is so dissociated from anything else JLC makes that it doesn't really uplift the rest of the line. A halo piece is supposed to, well, cast a halo. Other than calling it a reverso, there's very little from an aesthetic or engineering perspective that connects it to the standard production pieces. Combine that with the price and it really sits alone, something so far out of reach that it really is something else separate from the rest of what JLC makes.
Is it a halo piece that just reminds people that JLC is awesome? Maybe? It's got swagger. But again, it's so expensive and so few will be made that real or fiction it makes no difference. The chance of seeing one in real life is so small it might as well just be a render for as much as it actually will have a presence in the watch community. It's like if VW made the Bugatti Chiron intending it to be a halo model to sell more Jettas. No way. Heck, at least Bugatti sold a few hundred, you're probably 100x more likely to see a Chiron than a Quadryptique.
All that said, I think that's a very western enthusiast perspective. If I had to guess, I think JLC is taking an asia first approach and they think this kind of halo strategy will work there. With customers in asia still discovering JLC, JLC threw a million dollar watch to set the tone and tour boutiques to help move hundreds of base reversos all day long. We've never lived in a world where luxury brands didn't cater to western customers so I think we'll see brands do more and more things that we don't understand and even make us uncomfortable. It certainly will be interesting times....
