It is a typical 9k British Dennison cased Geophysic, no doubt at all, have seen enought 9k's in person to be 100% certain. 
What does it help to open it and to see movement? Simple test: does it hack ie. does the watch stop from running when crown is pulled. Think simple.

That means that at least the surface of the dial has been repainted, refinished, OR ...
That the dial is not original... You should remove it, take pictures of the dial, face and intern side. That is a big part of its value and interest which has gone. Best, Nicolas.

Ok. The movement does stop when the crown is pulled. Here are pictures of the box, paperwork and strap. You can see the front of the box isn't in the best condition unfortunately. I hope this helps. ...
