I’ve enjoyed this old lady for a few days. I just love this watch. ...

Aaah, the Geomatic. A very nice specimen you have. I have the rose gold one, but I miss my steel...

My ex Steel: Yours: My rose gold: A big fan! ...

Oh that story with your steel! I don’t forget it 😢

Yours was eve the case with the extra long lugs that I love so much. We live and we learn, my friend. However, you did land an amazing complete set with all the bells and whistles. It’s interesting that the lugs on the gold case seem slightly different? ...

I see. It’s odd they had a separate design for the gold piece.

Same story with the Geophysic. Do you know the reason? Did they use the same gold case for other models? Certainly not the steel.

The Geophysic De Luxe has a different case and a different reference. Not the " normal " gold Geophysic.

Here is the De Luxe, Ref 2985: The E 168 Rose Gold: The E 168 Yellow Gold: ...

The deluxe was always more rare than pretty to me.

The E168 is still something that makes me blink even if I have a nice steel. A yellow is my taste.

How can it even be “Geophysic” then?

 By: ChristianDK : November 30th, 2019-00:23
Was it launched simultaneously?

I think we had a conversation about it once...

When I think about the background. The international Geophysics Year was an important historical event. So of course to commemorate this, JLC could do a ku-ku clock if they wanted and call it Geophysic. But it’s nicer to remain within the domain of a scie...

Thank you my friend 😃

In pictures I sometimes think this watch is a bit boring. On the wrist I have periods where I just don’t feel like wearing anything else. It is just such a solid and understated design with a lot of refinements in the details.

In short, yes!

But I find the Geomatic a much more refined And elaborate watch. Both in terms of case design and movement architecture.

Cal 883 / 889...

 By: amanico : November 30th, 2019-02:04
Interesting movements: Cal 889. Cal 883: ...

Top work from the golden age

Adjusted to six positions and a very thorough chronometer design. I open mine onece in a while to look at it.

Wouldn’t it be cal 881, sir? [nt]

Yes, I know. [nt]

Wouldn’t you say..

...that the real modern successor to the Geomatic is the Geophysic True Second?

Very nice.

Love the shoes!

Perhaps not juvenile anymore

but still very sexy and attractive. I like the cleanliness of this model. Great shot with an interesting perspective by the way. Best Thomas

Thank you for those kind words, Thomas

that’s too nice! The honeymoon is still going on. My problem (?) at the moment: I don’t want to wear any other watch of my collection... Cheers Thomas
