I see. It’s odd they had a separate design for the gold piece.
Same story with the Geophysic. Do you know the reason? Did they use the same gold case for other models? Certainly not the steel.
The Geophysic De Luxe has a different case and a different reference. Not the " normal " gold Geophysic.
Here is the De Luxe, Ref 2985: The E 168 Rose Gold: The E 168 Yellow Gold: ...
The deluxe was always more rare than pretty to me.
The E168 is still something that makes me blink even if I have a nice steel. A yellow is my taste.

Once again, I agree. As for the pieces of Today, they are finely adjusted for a top accuracy AND amagnetic. That's the link with the original, as well as the case lines and the spirit.
But I regret they didn't go for a manual winding central second.

In pictures I sometimes think this watch is a bit boring. On the wrist I have periods where I just don’t feel like wearing anything else. It is just such a solid and understated design with a lot of refinements in the details.
In short, yes!
But I find the Geomatic a much more refined And elaborate watch. Both in terms of case design and movement architecture.
Top work from the golden age
Adjusted to six positions and a very thorough chronometer design. I open mine onece in a while to look at it.
