Elegance and style are two attributes that I associate with JLC and here these two watches certainly deliver! Same as you I find the case shape and proportions of these Master Control watches very convincing and the blue dials are sublime. Between the two...

... this photo is killing... ... because it shows how, to my eyes, incredible beautiful these now discontinued hands are. And, that having those hands, a watch can be so pure and still so exciting in its simplicity. No additional text, a date for convenie...  

I thoroughly enjoyed it! Having a soft spot for the MC Date, especially now in blue, this is a very compelling offering from JLC. The fine details of the dial , including the sun ray finish and second dimensional minute track add interesting depth

Both are handsome looking watches, with the Calendar being my favourite. I have no issue with "Automatique" but I don't like "Quantieme a Date Sautante", although if I had this watch I am sure I would "tune out" this text after a short time of wearing the... 

The MC Date is my absolute favourite. Personally I would have placed a slightly larger JLC simple logo at the top and used the Jaeger Le Coultre signature in the lower half, instead of the word Automatique that does not add much and looks unnecessarily ol...
