That might be a good analogy. But I don't see JLC aiming that high, at least not yet. JLC isn't about being in the top tier all the time, they're very happy being in the middle tier and to be making unusual complications. JLC isn't about fine finishing nor necessarily trying to beat Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, nor Vacheron Constantin. These brands rarely make watches in steel, they all finish their watches to a high standard, wire springs are all eliminated in favor of bar springs which are much more difficult to make and to design/integrate into the movement. But JLC wants to make a solid timepiece that's affordable, steel, and to make watches with meaningful complications at affordable pricepoints. And every now and then they want to create something that's so incredible that people have to take notice of the brand... A Gyrotourbillon, minute repeater, or even a Westminster chime! A pretty darn good comparison though! JLC just wants to do things their way.
