Does anyone know how to change the battery?

You need to open the watch, as for a mechanical one. JLC has the battery, and it is recommended to let JLC do the job. Best, Nicolas

Are there any illustrations showing the procedure? I am aware that it is preferable for JLC to do this, but it appears to be a 6-8 week process, only done in Switzerland from what I have been told thus far. I can't imagine it was built in such a manner to... 

But I will ask to my contact at the Manufacture if there is no better solution. Best, Nicolas
