Jaeger Lecoultre Tribute To Polaris 1968. A story, and a picture.

There often are stories behind our watches. This Jaeger-Lecoultre Tribute to Polaris 1968 is one of them.

At the end of the year 2008, I bought one, which I owned till the 18th of January 2011. At this moment, I was at the SIHH, at the JLC booth, when I received a telephone call to inform me that I have just been burglarized.

Among the watches which were stolen to me was the Tribute To Polaris 1968, and 3 other Jaeger Lecoultre watches.

Jerome Lambert was in front of me and immediately felt that something happened. He asked me, I told him, and his answer was: " We will do something for you ".

6 months later, I received a phone call, a better one, this time, to tell me that a surprise was waiting for me.

The surprise? This Tribute To Polaris... Prototype!

Here it is, rolling deep into the sea.

The case back tells the story:

The morality of this story: Sometimes something good can come from something bad.

Best,

Nicolas.

Sorry you lost the other watches to burglary but heart warming to see the generous spirit in response.

Great story!

If I had to make a JLC list, this one would be on it together with the reverso rouge.

Life have ups and downs.

From the sky is falling to a piece unique “Amanico polaris 68 prototype” gifted by Mr. Lambert himself, what an amazing story! Hats off to Mr. Lambert as well. Best, David
