Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox E 855 vs E 11005 on the Wooden Beam

Jul 18, 2018,10:55 AM

Two Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox from the 1960's.
One a "ultra-classic", one a rare bird...

The E 855 with the bumper movement Cal 825, the E 11005 with the manual Cal 911.
Both with sunburst silver dial and ebony indexes, both in steel, both Memovox with date...

But in detail they are very different.

The E 855 at 37mm is more open, more elegant...

While the E 11005 at 35.5mm is more butch, stronger character...

On the wrist, the E 855 sits higher due to the higher case which needs to have room for the bumper...

While the E 11005 is more of a slim watch, but due to the wider lugs and longer inbetween (20mm vs 18mm) it looks as big if not bigger than the E 855.
