Jaeger Lecoultre Master Ultra Thin 39 Steel Silver and Black dials. How a dial can totally and deeply change your perception of a watch?

The Master Ultra Thin 39 Moon was unveiled in 2011, in steel with its silver dial and in rose gold, as well.

Here is the steel, from 2011:

4 years later, Jaeger Lecoultre gave the steel case a black dial...

Same watch, but very different character. From understatement to a certain coolness and strength.

Both beautiful, in my opinion.

I m happy to not be on the run for one, as I would have hard time deciding which one.

I would say that the silver is more intellectual, the black more " easy ".

You?

Best,

Nicolas

It was an easy choice for me

loved the silver from day one....I wasn't keen on the blue sky and gold moon with the black dial....I will concede it's probably easier to see the time on it though. Now I've bought one expect the 70 hour movement to make its way from the limited edition ...

A cool line of watches for sure, the MUT Moons

A surprise to me, but the rose gold, cream dial is my favorite, even though I strongly prefer white metals. The rose gold model is such a nice combination of vintage and modern styling. Just gorgeous... Hard to go wrong with any of the MUT Moons, however....

Here is another one for you...

And I kept the rose gold slate grey dial for a post I am working on... ...

I love that silver one! To me, it makes it an extremely cold watch with its cold grey moon...

... and in this case, cold is hot! I find it amazing! What a delight from JLC once again: timeless, stunning and performant. Nothing to add, nothing to remove. Best, É. Ps: maybe it is not obvious, but I LOVE JLC

Personally, I would choose the silver.

Generally, I’m not a fan of black color in general - watch faces or straps, clothes, shoes. I find it too boring/easy. But I do love white metals, I guess it has more modern feel to me. 🍻

Black

Dont know if silver is more “intellectual” but black is definitely easier
