Jaeger Lecoultre Master Ultra Thin 34 Rose Gold. The Jaeger Lecoultre Simplicity.

Apr 08, 2020,03:14 AM

Some pictures of this Simplicity by Jaeger Lecoultre.

I think rose gold works very well with this kind of watch: Not big, 34 mm, thin ( circa 5 mm ), a very nice and elegant case and a sober dial.

Pure class, sensuality and romantic.

And let's not forget what distinguishes a nice watch from a great watch... The movement, the Cal 849, which is a true challenge and masterpiece.

Every watch nut should have a Master ultra Thin in his collection!

Me first...

Best,

Nicolas

You have inspired me to go and wear my MUT moon tonight!

It’s a classic piece from JLC ...

Unfortunately, the white text is difficult to forgive.

I tend to agree... [nt]

Is a platinum or white gold version available ?

If so this could be better ?

Yes!

Platinum: White gold. ...

Either....

I actually think that the White Gold looks very cool.

Looks very understated indeed,at the same time chic.

Is it fair to say, this would be today's equivalent? ...

I would rather say...

I don't know that one. What is it?

Merci! [nt]

A masterpiece...

this one, with its haute horologie movement and classically restrained proportions. Never seen it in this combination of color and material but very much like it. I agree that the white print stands out a little bit- a simple apllied JL logo would have be...

True “ultra-thin” movement. I think the Maison should

Introduce a hand wound MUT Moon that is under 8MM thick, maybe with more focus on finishing. Possibly limited run.

Definitely! [nt]

 By: amanico : April 8th, 2020-08:03

Is this watch really 5 mm thick? [nt]

By: India Whiskey Charlie : April 8th, 2020-08:05

5, 75 mm high. [nt]

My old and dearly departed ultra thin. It was a beauty.

Unfortunately it got very little wrist time. ...

Agreed! [nt]

Very nice!

That reminds me! Time to wind the Master Ultra Thin. Mine is the 38mm version. Which means more case, same tiny movement. Does yours run fast all the time? Mine seems to run fairly fast when fully wound and even faster when less fully wound. I can gain tw...

Hmm, I'll go find a compass and see if it's attracted to the watch! I hadn't thought of that yet!

Say hypothetically, I'm gaining what appears to be "2 minutes" but without a seconds hand I can't be sure, maybe it's just under 2 minutes and let's say it's around 10-14 days. Gaining 100 seconds in say 12 days - averages out to only 8 seconds a day, whi...

Well the MUT still goes through the same stringent 1000 hours test that JLC puts all of it's watches through so it should be capable of the same tolerances...

And if I remember correctly, this ultra thin caliber is developed and assembled in the same department as their grand complications (haute horology).

Yup! Indeed! All correct!

 By: patrick_y : April 8th, 2020-21:09
They have slightly lower tolerances for the MUT, despite the 1000 hours test for the 849.

Queries on MUT

As I am going to purchase a MUT date soon, may I know why the slightly lower tolerances vis a vis MC? And what is the accuracy for the 899/1?
