Jaeger Lecoultre Master Ultra Thin 1833 in Rose Gold: The forgotten " MUT "?

Sep 13, 2022,08:33 AM

Issued in 2008 for the 175th La Grande Maison's Anniversary, the Master Ultra Thin ( MUT ) came with a new case, which was 4 mm bigger than the former one ( 38 mm versus 34 mm ), and 6, 31 mm thick. The movement is the same, the famous and highly appreciated Cal 849.

The rose gold case and chocolate dial offers a superb chromatic combination to this watch, which was made in a limited edition of 575 pieces.

This MUT 1833 is in between the 34 mm and the other JubilĂ©e which came in 2013 with an awesome 39 mm platinum ultra thin case ( 4, 05 mm ).

Maybe this is this last one which killed the 1833?

Best,

Nicolas

Very nice! I'm not even familiar with this one

But I'm a longtime fan of the regular steel version of this watch. It's actually my favorite of JLC's *genuine* ultra-thin watches. I love the more lively dial with the applied arabics and the little balls for minute markers.

I did not know this one but it’s deliciously sexy!

Like which ones?

 By: amanico : September 14th, 2022-04:57

well there are many and i may not get the names right, but for starters...

the Deep sea tribute memovox (US and EU), many geophysic, some classical case looking memovox, older reverso with the blue dial and the numerals, and i am sure i am missing many of them. Most of the vintage JLC you are posting i find attractive...

Soooo pretty

I had the MUT in 34mm, with rose gold case and black dial. This one with the chocolate dial is even more appealing but anyway I think you can’t go wrong with any MUT. Glad you show this beauty and the photos are really nice.

The rose gold MUT 34 was a bomb!

...

I have the platinum Jubilee MUT.

But I think the stainless steel MUT 34mm looks better to me.

Pleasure! ;)

I like my MUT 38!

 By: patrick_y : September 13th, 2022-18:37
The 38 is a nice generous size. Some purists will say the movement is a little small for the watch. And they're right! But the proportions of the case and dial just look so darn good in my eyes. Even better proportions than the 34 in my eyes. I've got the...

That'd definitely give it a much larger spring!

And probably a better power reserve! The 35 or so hours I experience with mine is a little short.

Oui! Oui!

But I only have the 38, and I'm tres content with what I've got! Something about the dial and the proportions just look so good to me. I like the MUT38 in steel even more than the 2013 Platinum Jubilee model and even the Vacheron Constantin model. Who kne...

Yes!

The Platinum model is very very nice. But that tiny crown is difficult to wind. The steel variant is just so pleasing, the dial is lovely. And the numerals are perfectly sized in a wonderful font. The silver dial isn't too light (some are too yellowish of...

Ahh! Yes!

The dial is very nice on this one!

I remember desperately wanting one in 2008.

Nothing has changed. Spectacular, Nicolas. Thank you for the reminder.

My pleasure, G.

Those manual wind MUTs make a lovely family! They may be united one day!

My 34 says hi! Best, E. ...

Total class.

I can only agree, here.
