You wrote that “this is the kind of watches JLC excels in” : that got me thinking and you summarized exactly something I was pondering on, namely the positioning of JLC (incl within the Richemont family of companies)?
•I think that on the dress watch front, they are very strong (e.g.,the MUT with its knife-edge case and the majority of reverso).
•Similarly on the casual dress side (for instance with the Master grande taille and the master geophysic), they are also very strong.
•The sporty watch arena is however more of a question mark to me; this is where I personally miss the (older) master compressor line (cf the Magali T times?).
Do you know what I mean? Do you see it the same?

Prefer the eggshell dial, a bit more character then overused blue sundial. Is there a designer left at JLC ? Where are the guys from amvox, navy seal and deepsea ?

Absolutely agree
To me, JLC stands out with their classic, no-nonsense watches. Dressy or casual, it’s the simple things they do best. Personally, I love the Duometre et al. But from a brand perspective, it’s the classics JLC pulls off like not many others.

I also think it’s an amazing watch and a great technical tour de force. This is what I meant to say in my previous post. I do, however, stand by my point that what JLC does best are the simple, classic pieces.
