Jaeger Lecoultre Geophysic E 168. A summer series. Part 2: Geophysic E 168 Rose Gold, a piece of history.

Here is one I had the pleasure to see some weeks ago. A nice Geophysic E 168 in rose gold, in superb condition, with its original hands ( yes, Dauphine hands are correct for that reference, too ) and its plexy with the luminous dots still here, and... its invoice!
Sold in 1960 to the Captain Pharmacist André, in Djibouti, for 36, 000 Djibouti Francs.
For the reminder, the Geophysic was issued in 1958 and discontinued in 1961. A few pieces were made in rose gold ( a guess estimate would lead me to think around 100 pieces ).
None of the Jaeger Lecoultre Geophysics were issued for Armies. It is not a military watch, but it is funny and interesting to see that a Captain from the French Army decided to buy one, and in rose gold!
The other interesting detail is that the Captain came back to France with his watch in March 1992, as this document attests it.
32 years... If only this watch could talk! It would have many stories to tell!
Best,
Nicolas
