Jaeger Lecoultre Geomatic, another hidden treasure.

Jul 27, 2020,23:44 PM

Living in the shadow of the Geophysic, the Geomatic is a watch which should deserve a better consideration.

Less rare ( a bit more than 4300 pieces ), produced in a longer period, from 1962 to the end of the 60's, this watch is the ancestor of the... Master Control Date.

Here in steel ( 2000 pieces ),

Credit picture: Shruck the oyster:

And here in rose gold ( 773 pieces )

With its legendary medallion:

Its reliable chronometer movement, Cal 881 and 883:

And its box, papers and wallet!

A great reference!

I like these kind of 60ies watches. I could see this one on the wrist of commissaire Swan Laurence

It sure would be!

I'm curious to know, how your idea is going to be transformed into a picture, commissaire Nico...

That was to be expected.

Somehow I was under the impression you knew someone, who ownes that French masterpiece known as Facel Vega and would take a picture in his/her car My mistake. Volvo P1800 will do just as fine.

Something like this?

For the man of action: ...

Great mixture of Simon T. and Swan L.

Real class, Nico.

I often feel the urge to refresh my knowledge of certain languages.

In my opinion that's best to be done to visit a certain country and stay there for a few weeks. Due to work, family et cetera, that's not always possible, so I refresh it by looking at certain TV series. "Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie" I just stum...

Vous êtes très aimable... [nt]

very "no nonsense"!

Lots to like about this reference...

Especially the reverse engraving. At 36mm it’s also good on the wrist under a shirt cuff. Sadly, finding a clean dial is becoming more difficult.

Not worth the time ;-( [nt]

Such a clean, simple, straightforward dial — a time machine back to the 60’s. Beautiful!

Love the case back medallion, as well — classic.

Great E399

Congrats , I am trying to source a NOS dial for my steel E399 (it may have finish at JLC service bench but I would rather avoid it). Again congrats - I love the case design (lugs) on the steel one best R
