Quite an unusual specimen indeed. Which raises the larger topic: where has JLC's willingness to produce different, unique and singular dial designs gone of late?

I am not talking about "belle horology" pieces. I am talking about regular time only/chronograph/memovox and even reverso dial designs. I have suggested a few variations of dial designs in this forum (e.g. the Remarque black dial geophysic) which honestly are not bold at all compared to this art deco arabic even bauhaus chronograph design and yet also have almost no chance of being produced.
For far too long, I cannot recall any new JLC "basic" offerings that reinforce the creativity which JLC once offered. I do not accept the current Covid crisis as an excuse, because the lack of daring began before this Covid crisis emerged.
And as long as I am being a sentimental fool, I also have wished for modern iterations of amazing JLC desk clocks that once were made. (I'm sorry but Atmos clocks are not the same, and also do not seem to have been revisited for a long while.)
Have I become a JLC hopeless romantic? Maybe. But I will gladly say I was mistaken the moment JLC produces its next really bold and still journeyman category watch/desk clock, regardless of whether or not it is to my own personal taste...
Happy New Year to all.
