intriguing offerings @ Manufacture Jaeger LeCoultre - PART 2

Apr 17, 2019,12:29 PM

I’m happy to share with you guys the 2nd part of the story...some of the intriguing offers of JLC from present catalog...

you may have a quick look to the  'part 1' here   the history @ Watchmaker's watchmaker - Manufacture Jaeger LecCoultre !

Let us start with a world timer...not just a normal WT...a beautifully domed dial with lot of work on the dial....what else...a tourbillon on top of it...

well, the intriguing part of it - the tourbillon moves around the dial as you move the world timer disc - how cool is that ?!

now that is the detailing on the domed dial , it is pretty hard to capture the 'dome' - you got to see it to feel it !

Probably a very simple movement ?! no kidding...Master Gyrotourbillon 1 - just shy of 680 components....i've got a video of the movement alive but unfortunately i couldn't share here...

Now the 'normal' of JLC - the Duometre...precision - it is the core essence of this movement

and that globe...divine -  it is one of the few watches that allows to operate on all time zones to a level that a standard WT wouldn't work !!

Personally i changed my mind about this watch to be honest - i've always been 'not a fan' of the year window....

but when i see in metal, the year window didn't give the same feel as i see the watch in the picture...well i still would have preferred it without the year window but it wasn't too disturbing.

another BIG ONE...Hybris Mechanica + Grande Sonnerie - 1400 components on this movement, you don't look for a 'grande complication' beyond this !

4 different gongs striking at different level to create softer / different tones - the intesting part is, the 'power source' is the same

the intermediate gers hold the energy & release at different rate - that is how simple the movement is !!

I don't have to explain the level of finishing this watch would have...

Finally with the 'Burgundy Reverso'...

i'm totally sold to this dial, very sensual and the effect of dial w.r.t the light is extremely different - the next few pics I try to capture the effect....

a mandatory wrist shot....very sensual watch and i think no picture does justice to this piece - this watch should be seen in person....

Thanks for reading & hope you enjoyed it !

Thanks again to Mr. A. Robert & Ms. AL.Dujardin from JLC !!

Best,
Mahesh.,

So did you meet Christian Laurent, who explained you these pieces? This gentleman is not only a watchmaker, but also a true Devil. Did you have some new dreams, now? Best, Nicolas

yup, it was a pleasure to see Christian - wonderful person & great to discuss about historical pieces equally...

i got lucky that he was the one to take me also to Atmos atelier & explain different Atmos models too ! I'm more betting on duometre UTT in white metal & dreaming about the reverso burgundy, it is quite dynamic watch. Best, mahesh.,

but equally a duometre utt in white metal will be good option.

merci Tyo, JLC was too kind to me - i've only one reverso from them & to have a visit with my son was memorable !

i'm more on the Reverso Burgundy. Personally i'm not a fan of tourbillon but as an engineer it is quite fascinating to understand the powertrain & the level of intricacy ! Reverso Burgundy for sure - is something i fell in love with.

Thanks again Mahesh.

they really rolled out the big guns for you! I wasn’t aware of the beautiful dial of the world time. That is extremely appealing. Thank you for sharing your amazing adventure at the manufacture. Best Christian
