But if nothing else, it is informative as to how millenial watch lovers think of JLC. Which might be very different from the knowledgeable crowd on this forum. Or not ..
I have to say - modern JLC does not sit well with me personally. I don't remember a single trully inspired new release after Jerome Lambert left the helm. The gyrotourbillons, amvox, duometre, reverso triptique, extreme lab, polaris trubutes, reverso art pieces etc are all ghosts of the glorious past.
Let's be honest - if you had to pick a dream list of JLC pieces, how many of them would be releases from the past ten years?
The new polaris alarm is the perfect illustration of what is wrong with the brand. The blue dial, the numerals, the bracelet, the orange accents, the transparent back - it ticks all the boxes and yet ... there is no soul. The imperfect first tribute pieces are infinitely more interesting.
