After having the Navy Seals Alarm for six months, here are my personal thoughts about the watch. Design: The design is fantastic! J Big, tough and raw, but yet beautiful and elegant… A clear connection to the watches it evolves from! Colour: To combine th...
Here's another look for the NSA . . . on titanium bracelet. Simply incredible build quality and wear comfort with this bracelet. I also love the look of the black leather strap and "articulated rubber" bracelet, but the all titanium look stole the show fo...
Great wrist shot, and these divers really look great on the titanium bracelets. You are right, the bracelet is very well crafted and very comfortable to wear. I want to try the articulated rubber bracelet, too. Best, respo
Love the titanium bracelet! Gives the watch a whole new character, me like!!! J I have been thinking about the articulated rubber bracelet, but now I might have to reconsider… Thanks for sharing! Best Blomman
I too love Titanium Bracelets very much. Those designs will be damn good and extra ordinary. Recently I saw excellent collections at XXXXXXXXX. Edited: As per our forum rules, please do not post links to commercial websites. Thanks. Nicolas This message h...
You covered it all in a very thorough and balanced way. It is good to have your thoughts after now having lived with the watch for a while. I agree with yo about the 9 o'clock side of the divers. These are thick watches and you really notice it on that si...
For your kind words. You agree with me about the 9o’clock side? Finally! I have been mentioning this to several of my friends but they have refused to see the problem… Best Blomman
I received mine last Tuesday! I have the curious feeling to havel always owned this watch, maybe because of its roots... What a post, my friend! I think it is the real way to honestly speak about a watch, after having spent some time with. No watch is per...
The agony of waiting is finally over! J Yes, it’s a little bit of deja vu feeling about the watch… So familiar but not quite the same… Love it! Well, we all have different preferences – love to read yours six month from now! J Best my friend Blomman...
I would have a big problem to say which is my favourite among my latest cathes, as I love them all a lot. But I will post soon something which pleases me a lot, although not specially spectacular... Best, Nicolas
You will have to wait my friend.... something that I have told you..... and something that I have not.... it is more difficult for me as I cannot wear..... cheers
Thank you blomman for this well balanced review! This is the kind of report/review I believe in. Written by someone who knows his stuff and is not on anybodies roll. And who also does not miss to point out flaws in case there are any. Thank you very much!...
thank you, I enjoyed reading it. And congratulations on a lovely watch - I think it is superb. I have acouple of questions: The ones I have come across have a bit of "play" in the bezellike the clicks dont hold it completely in place - have you had this e...
No I haven’t experienced any “play” in the bezel. But I am a little bit worried that the ceramic won’t hold if I by mistake would bang the watch in to sometime… To compare the NSA with the MC memovox – well that is a great topic for a new thread J I think...
I would love read such a comparing post I understand a short answer is not easy... The Mc Memovox is a great watch that has lived a bit in the shadow of the Amvox 1 (quite underservingly IMO) Best Christian
Its a brilliant watch for many reasons and still my preferred watch in my diverse collection for a number of reasons... As Nicolas is saying it is gaining interest since it is discontinued and its heritage from the Polaris (wich has gained a big and well ...
I was planning to do a 5 year review of it before it leaves for le sentier for its maintantence but Im a bit hung up at the moment so it will have to wait a bit Christian
Is the first Master Compressor, and ALSO, a dign heir of the Polaris! It will count in the JLC History, and you know what? Since it is discontinued, Pepole is more and more interested in it... As an Artist... Best, Nicolas
hi Blomman, you mentioned the sound is wonderful, very clear. hope to have a chance to listen it. reason i asked is because after having my first Memovox, i am keen to hear the sound of other Memovox very nice timepiece, congrats. stefan
Well the sound of the NSA and the sound of the E875 Speed Beat are very difficult to compare. Modern memovoxes have a chime, almost like a bell, while the vintage memovoxes have a sharper hacking sound. Both equally wonderful but in different ways. You sh...
yes, one time i read somewhere, people said JLC had changed from hacking to bell sound since the Master Reveil model. do you know about that too? stefan
The Master Reveil and Master Memovox were the first memovoxes with the ringing sound. But I might be wrong; I am not sure what happened during the mid 70ies to mid 90ties. Actually, I would love to read a post about JLC watches during that period. Was it ...
i have been back-collecting old JLC catalogues. i just took out one JLC catalogue 1995/96 from y book shelf here, there is an interesting description about the history of its alarm watches which may offer us some hints what was happening during mid 70s to...
one day, i just thought i want to know more history of JLC, but find very hard to read proper sources, had a sudden idea in mind, i can go to get those catalogues as earlier as possible. but in fact very hard to find, so far the earliest one is 1991 editi...
There was a gap of some 10 years between the discontinuation of the Memovox, and its reintroduction in the catalogue. Good deduction, Stefan. Best, Nicolas
I was under the impression that it is the other way round, ceramic being harder and more brittle than steel and titanium... Here's mine on the rubber bracelet. I got mine in Sept '09, probably about the same time as you did. The rubber coated steel bracel...
Well if you look closely at my photos you will see that I already have scratched the ceramic… L Maybe it not easy to brake, but to scratch, yes. About dividing the hours in 5 instead of 4, yes you have a point! It is the same on most the vintage memovoxes...
Just want to add one more thank for this great review. I've really appreciated reading this type of review which is about personal experience with a watch. Best, Pascal
...and it's good to be back. It's always a pleasure and a enjoyable moment to read posts from passionate people, which is is the essence of this forum! That's true I was away from the forum for some time now, very busy with my job...and with some "peoples...
On the Master Memovox, the Master Reveil, the MC Memovox and the Amvox I the hours are divided in four… Is that a Panerai Luminor Marina in the corner of your photo? Blue, it seems that we share the same taste in watches! J Thanks for sharing. Best Blomma...
You mention it's really hard to set the alarm perfect, I know the recommended method for setting the alarm is to use the Alarm crown, but I also thought you could use the crown that sets the time, by winding the hour hands anti-clockwise. When you do this...
Yes I know that method – it works, but then you have to reset the time several times a day… But of course, it’s a good way to hit a perfect 6 o’clock. Best Blomman
