After having lusted for the Extreme Lab 2 ever since I first saw it at the Danish launch some 10-11 years ago, I finally got around to adding one to my collection yesterday. It is such a unique watch brimming with JLC confidence. I love the technical appe...

And yes, I have been an avid reader of anything related to the EL2 in here this last few weeks. Such great discussions that helped me in my decision.

Congratulations!

Thank you - and I totally agree…

It does not win you over due to its beauty, it forces you over due to its madness. I LOVE it when JLC rolls up their sleeves and do things like this. And thank you for all your posts on this watch. It kept the flame alive over the last many years, all the...

Merci, mon ami!

I too love my RG EL2, got it around 2013. Just love how over engineered and indeed extreme it is. To me I think of it is a kind of hybrid between RM, AP and JLC! Enjoy

Huge congrats

Agree with all the sentiments, whether the design is to your taste or not, in the hand it is hard not to be impressed with what JLC did with the EL2. ...

Big Congrats

JLC once again proving their technical acumen...truly a power house, it does it all!

Thank you for all your kind wishes - some thougths after a week of wearing it

 By: cfn : June 11th, 2021-06:32
First of all, thank you for all your kind wishes and comments. Clearly this watch has a following of people who see beyond its immediate brutal and atypical looks. Some thoughts after a week of wearing the EL2: - This is a big watch. No way around it. JLC...

Thank you - simple is best!

Great. Will give the watch a bath this weekend. Funny how the extreme watch needs a soft bath… Claus

Nice and clean after a Sunday morning bath

Thank you for the guidance Ready for duty. ...

Excellent!

Glad to hear you are enjoying it! One of the best parts of the quick release strap system is it's so easy to pull them off for cleaning and a toothbrush won't scratch anything.

 By: Fastwong : June 11th, 2021-16:29
Did you order a leather or rubber strap? I've found they wear very differently, both good, but different since the gator is so thick and rigid it's like a cuff vs the rubber which is lighter and more flexible. The rubber allows a comfortable and secure cl...

Good tips, thank you!

Ordered the leather strap. Should get it next week. Never actually tried the watch on the rubber strap. Will try it as I give the watch a bath. Thank you for the tips on saving the straps. By hardware, do you mean the buckle or are there other things to w...

The buckle supposedly is a $1k+ part so definitely save that but everything else too

 By: Fastwong : June 12th, 2021-17:36
The double spring bar set-up for the quick release system where the straps attach to the case is proprietary as is the very precisely machined bar that attaches the buckle to the strap. You'll def need those in order to get a custom strap made. The little...

I too…

Was fascinated with this model when it was first released. I followed it throughout the years… Pulled the trigger Oct last year. So happy. Such a great piece. PS. I’m timing my kid’s nap time. Haha ...

Brilliant use of that watch!

 By: cfn : June 14th, 2021-17:59
And a brilliant watch in itself. Not your classic beauty and some people can’t see beyond the looks to see the many crazy solutions that JLC have integrated into that brutal case. Thank you for sharing!
