I too love my RG EL2, got it around 2013. Just love how over engineered and indeed extreme it is. To me I think of it is a kind of hybrid between RM, AP and JLC! Enjoy

Always felt a gravitational pull to this watch. It really is something special. Glad that you were finally able to add it to your collection, that's always an amazing feeling!

Agree with all the sentiments, whether the design is to your taste or not, in the hand it is hard not to be impressed with what JLC did with the EL2. ...  

JLC once again proving their technical acumen...truly a power house, it does it all!

First of all, thank you for all your kind wishes and comments. Clearly this watch has a following of people who see beyond its immediate brutal and atypical looks. Some thoughts after a week of wearing the EL2: - This is a big watch. No way around it. JLC...

Did you order a leather or rubber strap? I've found they wear very differently, both good, but different since the gator is so thick and rigid it's like a cuff vs the rubber which is lighter and more flexible. The rubber allows a comfortable and secure cl... 

Ordered the leather strap. Should get it next week. Never actually tried the watch on the rubber strap. Will try it as I give the watch a bath. Thank you for the tips on saving the straps. By hardware, do you mean the buckle or are there other things to w... 

The double spring bar set-up for the quick release system where the straps attach to the case is proprietary as is the very precisely machined bar that attaches the buckle to the strap. You'll def need those in order to get a custom strap made. The little...
