Apart from collecting reversos and repeater pocket watches, I collect roman coins of the imperatorial period. The problem with fakes on ebay is so bad, the coin community run a forgery alert group where a list of sellers are named and past fake types are listed and photographed -- that is a yahoo group. Maybe as a community, we need to start some equivalent -- a big job.

Nicolas, thanks for the second opinion. The ref on the back seemed weird as did the quality of the finish. While I am generally against posting comments about auction pieces, in this case I think to actual raise this particular item in this discrete forum...

check the watches posted on their site... The number of fake watches is so important that I don't get that they authorize such postings... This is a very serious problem. Best, Nicolas
