A relatively unsung Reverso

I don't think is was made for very long, but this white gold Reverso (ref. 210.6852), with its exquisite black lacquer recto, "florale" numerals, and guilloché verso, and dual day/night indications, seems to me to exude a great deal more personality than many current versions. It was originally presented on a brown alligator strap, but I find this double-ridged ostrich works especially well to accentuate the art deco details.

I have a soft spot for Reversos - especially those from a couple of decades back.

And for good reason...

Looks really nice - a keeper. Was this the Wempe special edition? Cheers JML

I usually keep a flat Fagliano strap on my other Reverso

The double-ridged mixes things up a little bit. Sometimes, when I want to dress this watch up, I pop on a flat black stingray strap. Sharp, but quite formal looking.

Well, I do now. ;-)

...

Thanks - agreed!

Never was convinced by the original brown alligator... I'd like to have Fagliano make a black cordovan strap for this one someday, but now's probably not the time.

I'm pretty sure they're mostly shuttered right now, given the state of the world...

Next time I'm near one of the boutiques, (whenever travel in the states becomes more viable), I'll probably stick my head in and ask. It may need to be a custom job, though, as most of the stock Fagliano straps I've seen are 20mm, and ref. 210.6852 has 19...

Or JR can probably do that
