I asked JLC for a green dial variant of the Tribute Small Seconds model (via the London Boutique last summer). I do not claim the request to be original with me, and I suspect they were planning this item long before I asked for it, but still it is a watch that I was "looking for". I am sure there will be others, like Robin, who will also want to purchase this watch, and I suspect that JLC's market research reflects that. I am not sure that telling the manufacture to "wake up" will win the argument for you, though I do respect and admire your passion, and it's a pleasure to read other peoples' honest thoughts in this forum.
I think it would be a mistake to believe that JLC is done with Reverso releases for the rest of the year. We are barely four months in. The teaser image (by JLC in an official video) confirms this, and looks as though it may fit your definition of a mid-priced complication. Indeed, I think Catherine Rénier's voiceover specifically stated that there was more to come. I am not even sure that Shanghai will be the final word regarding the Reverso line for this year.
I sense that many manufactures are choosing to release some models as part of the excitement of W&W, while at the same time holding back other releases so that they can be announced when there is not so much competition for publicity. But I could be wrong.
