Question Regarding JLC Quick Release Deployant Clasps

 By: g_schroder : February 25th, 2019-12:18
Hello all - I'm the happy owner of a 2016 JLC QP, and my wife owns a lovely Reverso - both of which employ JLC's quick release deployant clasp system. While we love both watches, I struggle constantly with one particular aspect of the JLC quick release de...

I'm glad it isn't just me! :)

The manual spring bar release between the lugs is great and easy, but it takes me 30 mins to get this one silly connection together after it comes apart. I'm fairly sure there's an angle or position it is supposed to sit in so that it comes together easil...

The way to avoid the problem is to find the right way to open the clasp...

But I don’t want to run the risk to see it come apart... So I will put the buckle. Thanks for your post!

Is it possible to post a video here?

 By: DSF : February 25th, 2019-19:10
I did I quick video of mine showing how it is done. To release it you press “push here” and you should be able to slide out the spring bar from the top easily. To reattach, you just do the opposite. You slide the spring bar back into place. Once it is in ...

Did you try this?

What it looks like before you do anything. Push into the “push here” tab. Now the “push here” tab is opened. This is what the back looks like when the “push here” tab is opened. Notice in the middle there is a “pin” sticking out? From the front, take out ...

Wonderful! Thank you!!!

I am not wearing my JLC at the moment, but I will definitely take another crack at this using your images when I get home. Thank you so very much for posting this. I'm also glad I'm not the only one who has struggled with this silly little detail.

It is a little fiddly indeed

Hope everything works out for you. Best, David

Thank you again.

While I still find it a bit fussy, I was able to reduce the total time it took to change straps this morning, so I'm sure with more practice I'll continue to get better. Thanks again for your tips and quick reply. ...

Lifesaver

You are amazing. This is nowhere to be found in the manual etc. Now it makes 100% sense. Mine fell off and the watch hit the floor. Did not look like that piece moves at all. You are a lifesaver.

You are welcome!

Rotating side question

 By: roundel : August 10th, 2021-01:34
Anyone had the rotating side of the clasp slide out of the plate that says press here? I was just fiddling with a strap replacement, and it pulled out so that the non spring bar was too short. It presses in but it no longer instills confidence. Was there ...

A lot of good information on this thread.

I went to put my Reverso on this morning and the deployant strap fell apart. After reading everything here I figured it out. JLC has an awful design. If the end of the clasp had holes for the spring bar this would not have happened. The slots that the spr...
