Thanks for the heads up !

Thanks indeed, very useful.
Maybe the rather low estimate is somehow a clue that they do not believe the watch is 100% legit, but they are too shy to mention it bluntly ;-) ?

Jaeger Lecoultre Quartermaster soon to be auctioned.

 By: amanico : June 17th, 2020-07:09
My heart started to beat fast, very fast, till I got a deeper look on this watch. Credit: Antiquorum. It is, according to Antiquorum, a reference E 326. First problem, the Quartermaster is not a E 326. The E 326 is a classic, lovely and dressy automatic w...

Referring to the noble art of ripping people off as “work”?

I think you are too nice, I have several other more adequate terms in mind.

Such as? :)))) [nt]

As I said last time we spoke about auction houses

I do not have the financial means to risk a court case - so I rather remain silent. But I am happy every time someone calls out.

Hehehehe... ;) [nt]

Interesting and bizarre watch at the same time...

I don't know why you would even list or trust Antiquorum with your history with them or their history in general. Seems they have had MULTIPLE problems with other well-known members as well as other collectors I know. Would not touch ANY of their offering...

True.

nt

I agree. Nobody is an expert on everything. The auction house's experts are likely mistaken, and given your familiarity with the JLC brand and the Quartermaster, you're likely correct.

If there is data showing the auction house is not in error, I'd like to see it too! Maybe JLC made a mistake and assigned the same reference number twice? Not likely that JLC made such a mistake, but not impossible.

Thanks for the heads up !

I Bought This Watch / White Dial with Script "Quartermaster"

 By: OnTheDash : August 21st, 2020-04:15
I bought this was in the Antiquorum auction, and found this thread, when searching for postings about the QM. Is everyone satisfied that the watch is original -- i.e., that the script used for the word "Quartermaster" is authentic. FYI, we see this same s...

Can you summarize here the basis of your doubts?

 By: OnTheDash : August 21st, 2020-05:33
If you can please summarize the basis of your doubts, then I will try to address them. Must admit that my ability to review and process all the assertions in this thread (from all the participants) is limited. FYI, let me post another LeCoultre from the e...

So the Cataloger at Antiquorum Made a Mistake

 By: OnTheDash : August 21st, 2020-05:50
The cataloger at Antiquorum refers to the watch as an E 326. If the cataloger had described it as a Heuer Carrera, that would not make the watch a fake. It would only make the catalog incorrect. Right? The lugs are absolutely correct for this version (cas...

Auction Catalogs Include Many Errors

 By: OnTheDash : August 21st, 2020-06:39
In my experience, we see many instances in which auction catalogs include errors. They know the Rolex, Patek and AP, but how much can they know about the LeCoultre Quartermasters? When you know more about the watch than the auction house, then this is to ...
