A close up of these 2 watches, side by side, shows how different they are, in their respective characters. At the point I think we can call them complementary. The 50th Anniversary is a clear modern interpretation of the original, while the Mariner Memovo...

...the open hands and the splashes of orange...looks good in a sporty watch.

I prefer the non Memovox version

Hi Amanico, I must admit to checking the non Memovox version more often then is probably healthy and may well add it to my small collection sooner rather than later as my first JLC. Besides the not small price difference between the two versions I also pr...

As for the dial changes I think the latest version will speak to a different audience than the previous that is more classical.

I like them both but...

I like the hands of the Anniversary more I like the blue dial more (pending seeing one in person) I think the white date works better on the blue dial I like the orange accents on the blue So, the Mariner wins my heart but it is not fairly priced.

I vote Mariner Memovox in this case...

So far I love the wearability of this piece. On the spec sheet, one may think it’s too thick, but on my wrist, it felt comfortable. I am mostly a casual business attire guy, btw. The weight of it is also good. I love the lacquered dial. There’s a “wetness...

Some iPhone snaps of the watch.

Test drive of the alarm function

Looks very luxurious. Good looking watch indeed.

But I still prefer the 50th anniversary, because of the more sober, simple, and fully lumed hands.

Tie. Thanks, IWC. [nt]

The Mariner is ahead from a technical point of view but I much prefer the clean dial of the "old" one. And the rubber strap is very confy. Best

I had a choice

And I took the 50th version. New on WatchProSite, and new into JLC world ; many thanks to you guys: you helped me a lot making my decision! ...

Nice to see you here Olivier :-)

except color... and hands... until you posted this... I thought the new version dial was somehow newer! Am I missing something?
