This is a JLC 479 Cal. Are the case and the movement supposed to have the same serial? Secondly, can anyone correctly decipher the code on the case? TIA ...

Seeing it in person, everything appears to be for real. The picture makes the front of the case look quite better than how it really is. And when you look at the rear of the front of the case when looking at the picture of the movement, you can tell prett... 

But the case back states "Fond Acier" which means that the case is (chromium) plated and that only the case back in stainless steel (most of the time plated watches have SS case backs).

Regarding numbers' matching, I don't know, but I would not be surprised they don't match, serial numbers or movements and cases do not necessarily match.

From what I see, everything is consistent with what the watch should be

I got ahold of JLC today and was finally explained the number dilemma nobody could seem to explain. The only JLC to ever have matching case and movement numbers was the German made 463 cal “Luftwaffe” specifically for the fact that it was a common practic...
