I would love to see a new version as this vintage, but with a moon phase at six o'clock - much like the Blancpain Villeret model.

Cheers

Dating a Master Date Question...

 By: MAWhite : November 2nd, 2009-20:23
Hi all, I was fortunate enough to recently purchase an 18k rose gold Master Date reference 140.2.87 and I was wondering if anyone could point me toward any info about this discontinued series. I'm curious about what the code for the reference number means...

Some answers

The code number is : XXX refers to the model. XX, to the material use for the case and the strap / bracelet. The last 2 XX refer to the color of the dial. It is not the first time I see a difference in the reference number between the catalogue and the wa...

I thought there was a table....

Hi Nicolas, Thanks for the reply and that incredible pic! It seems that I remember seeing a table posted here once before which listed each of the three number sections with the corresponding description. It looked something like; 145=Master Ultra Thin 14...

Your references are coherent

Will try to make a search when I have time to do it, as I'm preparing some cool reviews right now. Enjoy your watch, in the meanwhile! If I posted this pic, it was to enhance the fact that as very often, JLC makes an obvious ( and pleasant ) link between ...

Triple Date...

I really like this watch and the more recent triple date, but the current date model with the large power reserve indicator at 12 o'clock leaves me somewhat cold. Thanks for posting that Nicolas David

You know what, David?

I tend to agree. But it is just our taste. I much prefer the cool and, to me, more elegant look of the former Triple Date, closer to the Vintage than the latest one. Like you, I'm not a big fan of the large power reserve under 12... Best, Nicolas

A kind of Master Calendar

But without the power reserve zone under 12? Yes! It would be great! Best, Nicolas This message has been edited by amanico on 2009-11-03 07:12:32

Discontinued Master Date...

This is the model I was referring to - some models just can't be improved upon and this is one of those. Perfect in my opinion. Thanks for sharing David

A shared sentiment....

Sounds like I'm not the only one who doesn't car for the power reserve indicator at 12:00. If not for that I would have already purchased the current Master Calendar. Thanks to all for the help and pics, Mike
