I encountered the same problem with my Zenith El Primero a couple of years ago. Turned out to be a broken main spring... these things do happen, even with modern materials and quality control.
Getting it back in full glory is something to look forward to!

Sadly, I had to leave my beloved AMVOX at the Beverly Hills boutique today to be sent to the factory for service, it had suddenly ceased keeping power reserve several weeks ago and did not improve at all since.... It was keeping the 65 hour reserve with a...
