From a design aesthetic, I think the Etats Unis edition wins--dial has more visual interest, less negative space and still is not cluttered. I'll take one of the US edition tributes please. [nt]

Let's start the year with the 2 crowns of my vintage Jaeger Lecoultre collection: Deep Sea Alarm US and Europe Ref E 857.

The two bombs: The european, with its delicious chocolate dial: The US, less sensual, more macho, but very attractive too. Here I don't really have a favorite, I cannot see myself without these 2. Enjoy, Nicolas ...

👍👍

I doesnt help me much that you show them, Nicolas. Do you know if these pieces were ever used in service - like military or special forces? Do you know a historical person (like an actor) wearing these watches? Do you know if this was a common watch compa...

I reviewed the Deep Sea Alarm many years ago. They are rare, a bit less than 1100, made from 1959 to 1961, most of them are the US version, the European being super rare ( around 100 / 150 ).

As far as I know, they were made for the US market, and not military issued. Worn by a famous person, we have no track of that. The problem is to find one and to fund it... They are reaching the sky, in terms of value, now. Best, Reuven. Nicolas

Nicolas, thanks for your precise information.
