Flush Strap on Reverso Squadra??

Hi Everybody,

I just got my first JLC a Reveso Squadra GMT gator leather strap deployment buckle. I am noticing that the strap is somewhat unusual. Its flush with the body and squared off somehow so the band doesn't really move on the pin, it stays there, very cool but does this limit my option when buying a new replacement band. I would like to get a regular gator band since the JLC band is way to expensive. Will a regular type of leather band for a deployment work or must it be this particular design.

Notice in the photo the strap is cut flat against the body. A regular strap would be round, does it matter if I use a round strap?

Does anyone with a Reverso Squadra or Reverso have experience with this strap design. It would seem that I can just use a regular strap, it would no longer be flush maybe but would it work or am I stuck buying only new JLC replacement straps?

To be honest you could probably get away with a standard leather strap as long as the with of the strap is correct. The question is will the way the strap feel and fits meet your needs. That is a question you can only. The design of the strap from JLC is ...

Test some others, you will see if it pleases you or not.

It didn't look right to me. But if you can find one that is thick enough on the wider side (between the lugs) and thing enough on the narrow side (to fit into the deployant clasp) then I think it is worth a try. Personally, I think the watch will look bes...
