Jaeger Lecoultre Geophysic Universal Time. Because we miss the world!

 By: amanico : April 14th, 2020-09:19
At least with this watch, we have the whole world at one glance, on our wrist or in our eyes. That's the magic of these world time watches... They give us some freedom when we miss it the most. Best, Nicolas ...

A watch for dreaming,

Not meaning to pry, but the globe strikes me as something that might have surfaced in New England. (I spent 35+ summers in NH, and spent a decent amount of time in

book barnes and antique shops on the Maine coast.) The object just screams "Melville!" at me, so I'm curious. No harm if you'd rather not say. Congratulations, again. That globe is far more rare than the watch!

Well...

I’m unclear about the ultimate origins of this globe, though I do know that it surfaced in an antique store on the eastern shore of Maryland, where my mother purchased it over 50 years ago. It has now been passed down to me, and I treasure it. 😊

How good of you to share the story. A treasure, indeed. I've never seen another. Stay safe wherever this finds you. Though the numbers of ner cases are rising daily,

we have quite a bit of room in Iowa (~26 people per sq. km.) So here, nature provides its own "distancing."

Such a beautiful WT. Two questions though...

I've read quite extensively about the movement, that it is derived from the autotractor series, the incredible true second mechanism and that the idea behind including the function in the Geophysic line was to demonstrate JLC's efforts for increased accur...

Here is my review on the Tribute To Geophysic: www.watchprosite.com And here my review on the Geophysic Universal Time and True Second: www.watchprosite.com I think the Tribute was even better than -1 / +4 secs per day as their movement wa...

Dear Nico, thank you for pointing me to your review. Didn't know this one.

The information on the accuracy of the Geophysic 1958 came from Hodinkee www.hodinkee.com at 1:21. Thanks again, Hendrik

I prefer the steel bracelet and here's why...

 By: Orangejuice : April 15th, 2020-19:52
The steel bracelet helps counter the weight of the watch and has quick micro adjustments like Rolex's Easy Link. It is also close to a 'beads of rice' type bracelet which is very comfortable. The bracelet end links do extend past the lugs where as the str...
