Burgundy for me..

.. as I’ve got blue covered with a latitude already - and red hues seem less prevalent in the back catalogue (rouge 1931 notwithstanding)..

Food for thought: Jaeger Lecoultre Reverso Tribute Small Seconds Blue or Burgundy?

 By: amanico : July 29th, 2019-04:56
Another pleasant torture: Which one do you prefer between the Reverso Tribute Small Seconds Blue and Burgundy? Both are highly tempting, but if I had to choose, I would go for the Burgundy. Why? We had too many Blue lastly, while the Burgundy is by far mo...

I agree, Nicolas

 By: LS : July 29th, 2019-05:00
I would pick the burgundy

Having tried both on last week

 By: sham1 : July 29th, 2019-05:11
I would go for the blue. The dial seems more 'alive' than the burgundy which is more of a matt finish although your wonderfully taken photos indicate otherwise.

Burgundy too

 By: VinnieD : July 29th, 2019-05:27
It is more original as a dial colour than blue... and it reminds me of a nice French region too

My pleasure Nico

 By: sham1 : July 29th, 2019-10:29
even though I voted for blue which I knew would lose - the burgundy is a newer watch and a boutique edition so that itself gives it an edge.

3-3. Thanks, Dirk. [nt]

Burgundy all the way...

 By: mahesh : July 29th, 2019-05:48
I should have taken it right away during the visit ! ...

just now I also realized the sundial in burgundy is a tad bigger!

 By: mahesh : July 29th, 2019-10:23
Probably to reduce the gap with the Swiss made marking

Burgundy for me. I love the originality of it.

 By: BMR : July 29th, 2019-05:55
But it’s also a watch that would make me smile every time I sat down with a glass of red in hand.

Nope. [nt]

Patek, then? [nt]

Burgundy for me...100%

...

Ooof.

 By: keks : July 29th, 2019-06:42
Tough choice. I like the burgundy for variety and with contrasting straps imagine it could really pop. But the blue is so well done, however there are so many blue pieces in this universe to choose from... so conclusion for me if I had to choose a reverse...

absolutely agree

 By: Watcholic_id : July 29th, 2019-07:10
the green dial is stunning. it would be very hard to choose between the green or the red

Actually more...

Voila: Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1931 CHF101,248 chrono24.app

Remains to be seen [nt]

Yes, clearly. [nt]

Having gone through this exercise and having tried on both...

 By: DarrenKats : July 29th, 2019-06:46
I ended up with the blue. Although it was the blue Duo. It was a very difficult decision and I may eventually end up with the burgundy as well if I am so lucky.

both are lovely piece...

 By: Watcholic_id : July 29th, 2019-07:08
but in this case, burgundy wins

Blue for me.

 By: Horologically_minded : July 29th, 2019-07:42
Only because it matches my wardrobe better!

Burgundy

 By: Brandon Skinner : July 29th, 2019-08:01
So much blue in the marketplace and the burgundy is beautiful in its own right

Bad boy! ;) [nt]

 By: amanico : July 29th, 2019-10:13

Burgundy....

 By: dms : July 29th, 2019-08:03
If I hadn't had the Rouge already, I'll jump on the Burgundy.

Blue here too...

By: India Whiskey Charlie : July 29th, 2019-08:09
Knowing my color tastes, I would most likely tire of the Burgundy.

I want a complete railroad track so I vote blue. Strange how the subdial diameters vary on these dials

 By: cazalea : July 29th, 2019-08:11
I guess unlimited minor variations aren’t being cost-squeezed out at JLC unlike so many other places. Cazalea

14-9 for the Burgundy. [nt]

Burgundy

 By: jml_watches : July 29th, 2019-13:48
Mainly as haven't a watch with that colour dial & when I saw it in London it was rather special. Now if we are adding wishful thinking a Duo with a blue and a burgundy dial might work very well. Cheers JML

Burgundy for me [nt]

 By: aperna : July 29th, 2019-18:47

It’s very difficult to create the red that the JLC artists

 By: Sportster : July 29th, 2019-18:50
used for this Reverso. So difficult in fact, that I consider the colour to be a complication of its own.

I haven’t seen the burgundy in person , and while the blue dial is well overplayed this days , I think this blue is very tastefully done .

 By: ZSHSZ : July 29th, 2019-21:24
The burgundy is special indeed , but a bit to loud for my taste . I also find the blue more versatile , therefore that’s my choice until I see the other in person....

Head says blue, but heart says burgundy.

 By: reintitan : July 29th, 2019-21:26
Maybe if they make an emerald or ivory dial then I can make up my mind

Having had the rouge,

 By: halkcb : July 29th, 2019-23:01
it's most likely blue for me---but i'll have to see the burgundy in the metal to be convinced of adding another 'red'. Btw,the blue dial you showed seems to differ from the one Tyo showed in his post,so do we have a choice of blue dials?

Ahhh...thanks [nt]

Blue vs. blue?

 By: Chromatic Fugue : August 2nd, 2019-23:29
Hi Nicolas — what is the difference between these two models (small seconds vs. duo), apart from the obvious difference that the duo has two alternative dials? Is the case size (or the main dial) different?

Hi, my friend here are some answers:

 By: amanico : August 3rd, 2019-00:17
The Tribute Duo is bigger: 47, 8 x 28, 3 mm and 10, 3 mm high, and the dial is a bit different. Look at the small seconds subdial at 6, on the blue ( which is a Tribute Duo ) and compare it to the Red, which is a Tribute Small Seconds... You will also see...

Very helpful, and many thanks! [nt]

 By: Chromatic Fugue : August 3rd, 2019-06:58

The blue is a wonder! I voted in the end...

Goes well with the Art Deco aesthetic.. old world tone/color if you will

Burgundy for me

 By: Ping.Timeout : August 3rd, 2019-02:14
Have seen both at local SGP boutique. For some unknown reasons, i am more attracted to the burgundy. But it’s a close call. I have say, under certain lighting conditions, the blue can appear as purple, which may not be my cup of tea. That’s just my opinio...

Somewhat unexpected outcome

 By: keks : August 4th, 2019-01:35
Very interesting to see. Thought I was in the minority camp but suppose I am just like the masses

I was expecting this & quite happy to say !

 By: mahesh : August 4th, 2019-08:10
that is why I was surprised when it was equal in the start - I guess Burgundy is one of the best of JLC in recent times, period !

That’s for sure...

 By: mahesh : August 4th, 2019-09:23
I’m waiting for an indie piece & then it would be the burgundy! Meanwhile I felt the itch to go something small...so couple of weeks ago I ordered a club 36 😜 - hope to get next week.

Deal 👍 [nt]

 By: mahesh : August 4th, 2019-09:32

Hmm... Blue for me. Report to follow soon.

I received one on loan, but I do plan to add one to my collection soon!

 By: patrick_y : August 24th, 2019-20:39
JLC loaned the blue one to me and I'm pleased to say that I plan on procuring one soon! Superb piece. And I since I'm not likely to be able to get the FP Journe Bleu model, I'm very happy with this alternative. This watch BLUE me away!

Burgundy for me :) [nt]

Blue for me. Burgundy is s fun novelty, but I fear the thrill would wear off. And I haven’t yet tired of blue dials.

I own the blue

 By: Spiff : September 6th, 2019-06:55
and unfortunately (or some would say fortunately) I haven't seen the burgundy in the metal... yet ! The blue is a terrific watch, I really love it. But I think that I would be capable of adding the burgundy to my watch box. Some have written that there ar...

i've now seen both of these watches; my thoughts.

i think they're both beautiful pieces however i have a couple issues which prevented me from buying them... 1) i think the silver dial markers are just too shiny. They sparkle almost like diamonds; not something that suits my personality 2) the matching c...
