Ahhh, the blue one.

Mar 18, 2020,13:58 PM

I had my heart set on the blue one from day one. As time passed, I lost out on the blue one twice. Then, I came around to getting into the RG and brown ceramic one. And I lost out on that one. The one weekend I was free to stop and see in person, I was driving around with our one-year-old. He fell asleep in the car, and I didn't have the heart to stop and wake him up. Turns out the RG/brown one sold that same afternoon. So, while I could say "I settled on the RG/black one", I have zero regrets.

β€œGrail” is overused, but.....

I’ve been collecting for a little over ten years. About three years ago, I discovered the Jaeger Extreme Lab 2, and fell hard. I’d had the T.I. version slip through my hands several times, finally, I said what the hell and rolled up a trade into a rose go...

BEAUTIFUL!!!

Congratulations on your amazing piece! It's such an amazing feeling to be able to acquire a piece after looking for long. Best Jarrod

Thank you. [nt]

Major congrats!

The Extreme Lab 2 is easily one of the coolest watches out there. Love the technical look and interesting complications/features. So easy to get lost in that skeletonized dial!

Congrats on a successful hunt!

The waiting and searching is part of the fun! You scored a really special watch, the amount of time JLC spent in design and development of this must have been off the charts. I don't think I've come across any watch at any price that has been as thoughtfu...

The buckle AND the rubber strap.

The buckle is cool, but the rubber strap has it's charms as well. The rubber strap is actually vented. And the strap minder loops interlock with the strap to stay in place.

Great addition to your collection, congrats...

There are a few of us here with an EL2. I was also contemplating on adding a RG EL2 to my Ti version but have not done so as of yet. It was between a RG model or another Ti version but in red as I have the blue version πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I wear mine more than pretty much anything else in the box. As has been said of this watch by many, were there another brand name on the dial, this watch would easily and justifiably command a 5x premium. Currently, and especially at secondhand prices, I ...

Thank you, sir.

I know you’ve had a few of these, and seeing yours certainly made the move easier for me.

Yes they do [nt]

Kind of wish they did a deployment to

Make the leather strap last longer. But then the buckle was really complex to begin with.

For this type of watch, I think the multi-adjustable tang buckle was a better fit...

JLC did develop a multi-adjustable deployant buckle as well for the higher end Sphero and Gyrotourbillon models but those were in precious metal. They could have a similar design in titanium or other metal in the future for other models. My Parmigiani Tra...

Nice comment.

How long do you think your MC2 leather strap will last? Seems pretty robust.

I don't have a MC2 (Master Compressor 2), I have an EL2 (Extreme Lab 2) πŸ€£πŸ˜‚...

as for how long it lasts, no idea as I bought it a few years ago and it still looks and feels new. It has a rubber insert which redistributes sweat and hugs the wrist. The calf lining is extremely durable as well. I have even swam with the alligator strap...

Sorry, meant EL2.

Oh wow, well I guess that is reasonable considering what you get.

How long did the original leather strap last you?

Hard to tell since I bought the watch pre-owned

 By: Fastwong : April 10th, 2020-08:45
and the OEM strap was in okay shop, not great, the keepers in particular were real rough so I had a new strap on it asap. New out of the wrapper the original strap is one of the nicest I've ever seen and it comes with all the hardware vs more typically wh...

I just remembered the rose gold version is what went on the Expedition Geophysic!

Most of the launch ads showed the red titanium version but in a pic from Eight magazine they actually show Stephane wearing the gold version! The rose gold version is truly the most extreme variant! πŸ˜‰ ...

I thought it was titanium, but...

You are right,It was the rose gold version. ...

I would definitely be in if they made it in a neutral or matching colorway πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

Ohhh the strap...

I’m desperately trying to get a custom strap made. The ratcheting legs are executed very well, and don’t make a custom strap impossible, just a little challenging. Worst case, one could cannibalize an OEM strap.
