Sapphire.. I believe it is the AR coating that got scratched.

The AR can be completely removed with Cape Cod polishing cloth. That might be acceptable until service is needed.

It must be great to wear an AC or a PP. Bad to know the crystal is damaged. Evidence an owner before was not handle the watch nicely. But i think, when the repair center put on new glass, your IWC is like brand new. I have no AC or PP, and it is a good ta...

But I had them long time ago. They were a Portuguese hand hound and an aquatimer. .. agree that it's the best dial which is hard to come by in sg for a pre-owned piece. Also for people in sg looking to buy pre-owned watches, stay away from watchcapitalsg ... 

Be thankful you spotted the (minor) defect

Instead of spending more money and becoming worried please do this. Live with the imperfections for 3 to 6 months. You will learn to live with it and it will not affect you after that time. The watch is amazing. It’s about the movement , dial and wearabil...
