Everything you said is about a future product that is not even out yet. And may never come out. I cant give credit to a watch/brand for something that they might do. Especially when they can do those things now. That does not justify the price tag. We are talking about the current release and its pros and cons. Only the market will tell us where the new Ingenieur will do. Like every IWC, I think they will be 40% off on the grey market in less then a year. IWC is simply not that brand that people should be buying at msrp. All of their watches sits in display cases. Do I want the Ingeniuer to be successful? Yes, but not at msrp.
And No, not all CEOs are created equal. There are plenty of brands that are or were in the gutter due to poor management and leadership. Take Breitling for example. Breitling was doing terrible until George Kern turn them around. You can argue that Blancpain and Breguet are still in the gutter and that their brands have been out of touch for the last decade. You cannot have CEO of lesser brands take credit for what great CEOs have done with successful brands. i.e. AP, Patek, Rolex, and RM.
