...my beloved Portugieser Perpetual Calendar:

This watch has gone for some years without any issues, but has recently gone from automatic to hand-wound. ๐Ÿคจ ๐Ÿค” ๐Ÿ™„ The rotor moves freely, but the vaunted Pellaton winding system is currently for show only. I'm curious to hear from IWC what they think has happened. (No trauma involved, as far as I can remember.)

The same happened to my Big Pilot (5002)

IWC would not say what happened but they fixed it and returned it within 10 day (pre-covid). That said, I kinda liked it in manual form...๐Ÿ˜

Yeah, but if it's going to be manual wind, you'd want to get rid of that big, fat rotor (solid gold or not). ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜ [nt]

I've actually had good service experiences with IWC as well, including being comped for out-of-warranty repairs.

No doubt ๐Ÿ˜‰ [nt]

Nice IWC Modernahab u have. My favorite Schaffhausen. I like also the other variations of the perpetual calendar, for example the gold with white dial. No problem of the absence of a second hand, as there is no small seconds hand, i am happy. Next, i like...
