One of my favorite IWCs...

I happen to possess one of these puppies as well (the older Ceramic version) and it's quite a cool timepiece. I do enjoy that militaristic watch vibe. Did you know, Richard Habring was tapped by IWC to help design the Split-Seconds module of the movement?...

Yes

He designed arguably the most cost effective split you can buy. I love that IWC is still using it. I’ve seen people complain this movement isn’t in house 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️.

The movement isn't entirely in-house...

It uses a base movement to drive the mechanism. So the base movement is definitely outsourced. The split module is mostly in-house as nobody else uses an identical design. Although Habring has made somewhat similar designs for other brands and his own tit...

Yes, it is based on a ETA/Valjoux 7750 Ebauche (Calibre 79230)

Great looking tool watch, still blemish free after two months and a rare one to see in the wild! The rattrapante complication now warrantied for 8y by IWC-what confidence does that say?
