Congratulations and welcome!

Your IWC is magnificent, a very exceptional choice for a first mechanical watch. These forums are a great source of knowledge and lots of kind and interesting people. It is my favourite online discussion forum for watches. It’s interesting to hear that yo...

So the backstory is this: long long time ago, wayyyyy before I really paid attention to watches, my friend shown me his IWC Pilot (forgot the exact model) and so I knew about the brand. Then occasionally I would do some window shopping and this perpetual ...

Oh my God!! A quantum leap into mechanical watches, that too with a Perpetual Calendar!!

Dear your watch may be qualified as Grail for many watch collectors around the world. We start with simple mechanical watch and climb up the ladder in years to yearn for a Perpetual Calendar complication. I've never read, seen or met a person whose first ...

the rationale behind why I bought this watch...

so as I replied in an earlier post, I always had a strange affinity towards IWC because a friend showed me one of his IWC watches sometime ago, way before I knew about the crazy world of wristwatches.. and when I was ready to get one for myself, I thought...

I totally understand where you are coming from...

...but don’t turn your nose against simple 3 handers prematurely. Some of the most elegant pieces are very simple but poetic. Have a browse of what Laurent Ferrier offers or even H. Moser & Cie.

Totally agree

There are so many things to like and ... love. Personally I appreciate the single moonphase indicator which gives the watch a romatic look and especially the year window in the colour of the dial (so many variants show a white year window on differently c...

IWC Schaffhausen Portuguese Perpetual Calendar. A better first introduction on a community for watch lovers that is far the best ever this world knows, is one of the big surprises. Unbelievable. My favorite version of the IWC Schaffhausen PPC. Yours. What...

Welcome here, as others have said that’s a pretty big entry not just to the forum but to mechanical watches.

Very nice timepiece!

Congratulations! You now own a watch to tell time all the way to 2047 without making any adjustment. I have seen different versions of perpetual dial face and color and this is one of the best. Love it. Wear it in good health. /W72
