Any difference(s) between Portugieser chronograph models IW371401 and IW371445?

Are there any significant differences between the 2 IWC Portugieser discontinued models below??

IW371445:  (pic below of black strap)
IW371401: (pic below of brown strap)

IW371401 has a  tang buckle vs folding clasp on IW371445, and the IW371401's case is 0.1 mm larger.
Are there any other differences in terms of mechanics/movements, fonts/writing, etc? .
I believe the IW371401 is the older of the 2, so is the IW371445 an upgrade of some sort???

I have admired the Portugieser models for a long, long time and now want to buy.
I have a 20-year-old YG Da Vinci perpetual calendar, so I am still trying to decide which Portugieser to buy.
Which dial color? Which color of hands/indices (blue vs gold, etc.)? Discontinued pre-owned  (like the 2 below) ?
Or current model with in-house movement and skeleton back? Any advice in this regard too would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Ron

The pics below are from a website and used for reference only. I do not own these watches.

One's older and the other newer (with some revisions): I happen to own a 3714-45: ...

Nice looking.

Thanks for the reply and URLs. I am debating between the IW3714-45 pre-owned or current IW371604 with gold or IW371605 with blue hands/indices.

The way I would approach this...

If you want a new watch with the full 8 (?) Year warranty, buy the 3716. Otherwise, get the 3714-45 as it is just as solid if not more with the proven 7750 based movement. Mine has been rock solid for many years now and hasn't missed a beat.

I would tend to agree with you as previous Portugieser Chronographs are on a 7750-Based movement, while the newer 3716 as a full in-house movement.

In terms of looks, I have never seen in the flesh the 3716, which makes it hard to judge, but I would say on the paper it is more appealing. The shape/proportions of the 3714 is great, which you might want to favour, the 1mm additional width might be an i...

The older one has a stamped dial while the newer one has applied indices.

The latter one looks nicer when close up.

This is the main difference.

It's hard to notice but it definitely, to my eye, favors the -45. If I reacquired a Portuguese Chrono (I've owned three over the years!) it'd probably be a 3714-45.

Thanks for the feedback

It is hard to tell differences by looking only at pics.

Ahhh, I will have to go take a look at both in person and compare.
