Ahh thanks for this comparison.. for some reason these models highlighted the day date orientation more so then the original .
Even more so, I thought the 3777 and 3717 had it closer to the edge of the dial. I also am accustomed to the small seconds at 9 vs. 6… but I assume these are some of the changes when IWC went to in house they wanted a unique dub dial layout.
Let's remember that the dial layout is largely contingent on where the date is on the movement...
