how ideal the lighting conditions in a car are. This gem always conjures up a smile on my face. And also brings me to rest between stressful appointments. When I think about how long I've been hunting this watch after I stupidly had sold the first generat...

Thanks a lot, mon ami!

As you might remember I have regretted selling my 3750 (1st generation with a 39mm case in WG, white dial, and the "simple chronograph function) for about almost two decades. A few years later I made up my mind to correct my mistake. And it took me 16 yea...

Thank you so much, dear Fabrizio!

I have to say that this 3754 with its beautiful blue dial is in the flesh much nicer than on the pics that can be seen on the Internet. I almost fell from my seat when I removed the hundreds of protective covers from the watch almost 1 year ago. Then I RE...

Thank you, dear Jay!

Yes, this dial was made in blue, when almost nobody was searching for a blue a dial and it was for sure not a trend like today. Best Thomas ...

Hahahahahaha, dear Nacelle!

Yessss, INCLUDING the LUGS‼️‼️‼️ 🙏😊 P.S.: Due to this movable lugs the watch sits better on the wrist than most of the watches I know.

Phenomenal watch

Both design and complication

Yes, design AND function

 By: MTR : December 17th, 2021-13:08
are fascinating… Thanks a lot! 😊 Thomas ...

Classic and … timeless, too.

 By: MTR : December 17th, 2021-15:39
It‘s for sure a unique design. With a high recognition value. Thanks a lot for your kind words. All the best Thomas ...

Awesome watch. Awesome photography.

A match made in watchprosite heaven 😀🤣

Thank you for your warm comment, dear Hussam

I also love the three-dimensionality of this watch, which in some positions looks like a sculpture… All the best Thomas ...

More gorgeous photos of this beauty! 😍😍

 By: Lankysudanese : December 17th, 2021-15:20
I always admired this timepiece for the historical significance. Little did I know that the case, dial and lugs were super-photogenic. Congrats again Hussam

Three further photos are still possible 😉

The photos were taken a year ago when this gem arrived. And yes, this watch is very photogenic. All photos were made with an iPhone 11 without talent to speak of. LOL All the best my friend Thomas ...

The talent started when you picked the timepiece (amongst all the other hype)…

Thanks a lot for these very kind comment, dear Hussam!

I have to say, I have had really good teachers and role models here over a long period of time. In the meantime I have developed my very own taste, which often does not go hand in hand with the watches that many investment oriented collectors chase after....

That’s been my approach so far, and I hope to continue to do so.

 By: Lankysudanese : December 20th, 2021-08:21
Most of us entered this passion due to strong emotional connections with mechanical horology. A highly-collectible watch that leaves me cold has no room in my wrist. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Hussam

I really like your approach, Hussam.

 By: MTR : December 20th, 2021-17:19
It's really individual and unique. Whether it is a Harbring2 with a very special dial or a Longines with a creamy dial or a beautiful Anordain, a nice AP RO, a limited Kudoke 2 or a Rolex Batman. You often (and like me not always) walk off the beaten path...

I really appreciate the head-nod, Thomas.

Nuanced collectors such as yourself, EdTonkin, Bill, Holdenchamp, Aperna, Nico, Holdenchamp, ArmisE, Yacomino (to name a few) have all played a major role in shaping my personal ‘taste’ in watches. Your two examples are perfect for how each new watch shou...

I have been rather busy the last days so I am able to answer your very nice post just now. “Tremendous joy and ‘value’ that you extract…”. You can’t express it better what passion in our beloved hobby means. And this (your) joy comes from an intrinsic mot...

No safe queen

Having the perfect watch, most of us are so careful, our grail become a safe queen. You just wear your favorite watch. Seeing your D’avinci i compare it to a Cartier Pasha. Very different, but i think the lugs do it.

Thanks for your comment, Weems@8!

 By: MTR : December 18th, 2021-12:24
I have to admit, not a single one of my watches is a safe Queen. Watches are built to be used (from a MR to a PC to a Tourbillon). For me there is nothing more sad than a beautiful watch that has been built with a lot of passion and that, wrapped in plast...

Haven't logged in for awhile and it was a joy to see such lovely photos of an uncommon piece. The design stands out on its own for sure. And with the complications, It's a complete piece Thomas.

Thank you for your very kind words, dear traineract!

And what I like so much is that you really get a lot of watch for your money. And a piece that is really steeped in history, has changed the world of watches so that you carry history on your wrist. For me, collecting watches is not a question of investme...

And yes, it is definitely more satisfying and more fun when you go through the "world of watches" with open eyes and only acquire what you really like 100%. Regardless of what others say. Regardless of whether it is “highly collectible” (= a good financia...
