Keep in mind, they're a monopoly/duopoloy, you have few alternatives; thus, FedEx doesn't need to be better. I blame the sender (a big jewelry store on Bond Street, even the best and biggest stores make small mistakes now and then) for using FedEx when they should've used a different service; and for sending over a weekend; and for sending during inclement weather. But in the end... It all worked out! Amazingly.
