Andreas Strehler's Tourbillon Remontoir D'Egalité was my highlight at Baselworld
Mar 29, 2018,01:45 AM
Not the least because I surprised myself with the love for this watch: I am not particularly attracted to tourbillons and even less to open-dial designs. Here I found not only convincing technical solutions (like the trans-axial positioning of the remontoir to the tourbillon cage, with only a spring powering the tourbillon with a constant force, avoiding potentially disturbing gear interventions), but also an arrangement and design of the parts that leads to a superbly elegant picture for me. For once, the layout and construction of the visible parts creates to a decoration of the front of the watch that matches a dial crafted the artisanal way.

I can imagine

With a slightly larger case, the watch became more attractive than it already was. Stunning piece. GEO
I am in total agreement

but I must say the VH being the same size as the RR is quite attractive too. Any idea how much the VH cost and in what metal does it come in? Would love to view a photo of its movement
Thank you very much my friend!

Is that CHF or Euro?! Not a bad price at all and much cheaper than the Rexhap but I need to compare both movements. Vianney is an established independent and a legend whereas Rexhap is possibly the future. I am wondering how the finishing of both movement...
Its 49k swiss but not sure its with tax !!

You are right that VH is a much respected watchmaker and like you said Akrivia (rexhep ) is imo also the future . Rexhep and his brother are such nice and humble persons also like Vianney ofcourse . I think its just a matter of taste in this case . There ...
I think

The Vianney may look smaller due to the larger bezel and my wish would be the Rexhap in steel as the movement is one of those to die for. I can only think of the Gronefeld Remontoire having a more breath taking movement on a 3 handed watch although the ne...
Though choice my friend 🤔

Like you said when it comes to pick one from all those great indie watchmakers i would still go for the Gronefeld 😉( being patriotic 😁) But one day i would love to own a VH or a Akrivia 🙏🏻
Again I tend to agree with you

something about the Gronefeld brothers and the Remontoire makes me partial to this watch when one compares it with other watches in the price range. Please excuse my sincere ignorance but until I met Bart, Tim and yourself, I had no idea that Dutch people...
I have emailed Vianney for information
By: sham1 : March 27th, 2018-02:34
and yes, I agree that almost all watchmakers especially independents are really nice and humble people. Kari Voutilainen is one. The best part is even though Rexhap is relatively new to the independent scene and a young man, he oozes with talent and confi...
Then still a Gronefeld would be the best option 😉

That one can allways be serviced by R et P in the future . But i hear a lot of people asking me that same question and my point of few is that there will allways be a skilled watchmaker arround who can fix or service that movement in the future .
My friend,

you a true patriot and a walking talking advertisement for the Gronefelds!! They should allow you to wear a Remontoire as an 'Ambassador'!!!
the hands on this watch are drooooool, glaghh.....

But I never loved the case or dial/ lugs -- all too weird... but weird is Halter's normal chuckle... ... and I definitely do not like the new V. Halter 'signature' on the dial. Prefer a 'serious' and proper logo, even from the mad man himself. But if I sa...

.
You know, it doesn't quite have the same charm as the original.

Or perhaps I'm not being fair as on second look it's pretty close to the OG White Gold, save for the crown, dial signature and hands. Perhaps it's because it's almost monochromatic. No doubt the 20 pieces are gone or will be gone soon.
Great Choice....

did you know if you contact De Bethune they will consider doing a bespoke piece that fits your requirements? S
WoW, WoW, WoW, Excellent Choice...

Huge Fan of Andreas Strehler and like yourself I am not a huge fan of tourbillons or open work designs but this one is special for sure. S
