New to WPS - Intro.
A member from a small group of collectors in the San Francisco Bay Area shared a link to this beautiful and stunning watch and although I have heard of WPS before this was the first time I signed up. I must admit I was bitten by the FOMO bug and I wanted to quickly get my name on the list hence skipping out on an intro.
I have been fascinated with watches for about 30 years and my first "Nice" watch was the Omega SMP Chronometer (thanks to Pierce Brosnan), which I eventually replaced with an identical one after I left it behind on a camping trip.
My next big chapter would start when I found my way to Sinn thanks to a Watchtime Article "Sinn vs Sinn" where a U1 was compared with the U2, I didn't have funds for a U2 so ended up with the former. I later learned that the U2 was part of the EZM series which Sinn was famous for, and being former US Army that naturally resonated. Today I have the EZM1 LE, EZM2, EZM2B, EZM3, EZM4, EZM5, EZM6, EZM7, EZM10, EZM13 and a Sinn 155 on the roster. The hunt for the discontinued EZM2 and EZM4 was part of the fun and the many friends I have met at WatchBuys road shows in past years.
I had my obsession with Panerai, had 4 or 5 at the height but ended up with a PAM 005.
Being obsessed with other brands after Sinn and Panerai came next like G.O. with the Senator Hand Date being my first, Senator Navigater and the G.O. Panomatic Lunar.
JLC was next with the Master Memovox and the Master Control (sold).
Then the IWC Big Pilot and a Chrono got my attention.
Got the AP ROOS but retuned it (in hindsight I should have kept it), the ROOS didn't do it for me. Maybe the RO when things are not as ridiculous as I have no desire to pay even retail not to mention 3x. This was also the first time I learned just because I love something doesn't mean owning it was the right thing to do. It just looked so much better in pictures and in the showcase, it should just stay there in all it's glory.
Then came the Bremont, Grand Seiko, Seiko Prospex, G Shock (trememdous Nostalgia), Hamilton Khaki (again military!), Yema, Tissot, Zenith, Doxa, Stowa....not sure I covered it all but that's close.
People talk about finding your genre, your theme, hone in your tastes but I must admit I have been pulled in different directions, kind of like a squirrel looking for that next nut and altough some have left the collection, I will say I actually enjoy being "all over the map" because there is alwasy something new.
