Vault

I recently discovered the Vault brand of watches.

They are intriguing.  The movement is designed by Andreas Strehler and finished (albeit simply) by Bernhard Zwinz, who now helms Winnerl watches and used to work for Dufour.

The designs will definitely not appeal to everyone, but the more I collect, the more attracted I am to "outside of the box" looks.

Thoughts?

It is hard to come up with a lot of firsts in this industry but believe they have with the way time is set how the entire movement turns. I like what Little I have heard so far and they remind me of a cross between Ludovic and a skeletonized Cvstos. What ...

I follow the brand and Mark Schwarz on there journey from the beginning.

The proto a few years ago was already impressive and there watches nowadays are truly amazing and unique imho . I still hope to add a piece unique at some point (when my budget is healthy again 😬) ...

For me it falls hard at the first hurdle; in my eyes the watch is just ugly.

That’s a harsh assessment and one qualified by the fact I’ve not seen one in person. And seeing something on your wrist or in the hand can change perspectives completely. That said, the concern I have with my initial reaction is that if I’m in the majorit...

These are definitely not for everyone.

I personally find the design wonderful. My only concern is the size. They appear quite large

For sure, not for everyone. And I appreciate that, this is a large part of the fun in collecting.

My threshold would be to have just enough people interested to ensure a stable brand and some longevity.

Agree

The movement is made by Andreas Strehler, so longevity is with him

Although the concept is interesting

it feels like something that came out of RandD Hogwarts. A bit much with all the gears…and the crown.
