The Laine. Ignore the plates and bridges and focus on the pivots and gear wheels
Notice the arc created by the four jeweled pivots? See the position of the balance, relative to the large and small winding wheels (click is in a different location).
If you want three hands in the middle, with hours minutes seconds in correct proportion, some things are set in stone (brass, German silver, etc.) You know what I mean.
