Prototype update.

 By: David L. : March 15th, 2019-03:13
Hello everyone, Here is a quick update and a couple of more decent pictures of my new handmade piece. (Prototype) I decided to make a new stainless steel case because the first one wasn't too user friendly. The crystal on the front is now enclosed and the...

Thank you Alex. [nt]

one question, is there access to change the strap easily ? keep us posted as you progress. Godspeed ! mahesh.,

Thank you. Yes, the strap is relatively easy to change, same as on most watches.

You can't see it on the pictures but there are holes on the side of the case where the spring bar snaps in place. These holes are also used when the spring bar needs to be removed.

Thanks David !

I really like it

Couple thoughts 1. I do wonder how it looks on the wrist (wearability) 2. I think a similar concept round watch would also look great

Thanks, I'm glad you do.

Regarding wearability it's not the most comfortable thing in the world, but it's not terrible either. Here is a wristshot if you are interested. ...

Nice

I really like the industrial look combined with the trademarks of true workmanship. Very well done! And regulators are quite scarcely distributed.

Thank you very much.

Yes, I feel like regulators are not very popular these days, but I personally always liked them.

If you like regulators, please check out this post

EVERY POSSIBLE REGULATOR? I spent weeks collecting about 70 variations. Here is a sample of non-round regulator dials: I guess I should check the listings to see if yours is covered. Cazalea ...

Good work

Blued hands would be big improvement in looks and readability

My thought exactly

but otherwise - wonderful! I just watched the movie Hugo last night, and this has that same aura of being an impossible-yet-real, unique mechanical device

Thank you very much cazalea.

I haven't seen that movie yet, but now that you mentioned an impossible-yet-real, unique mechanical device I'll check it out.

TBH a few more shot and

For an already great watch. I know pictures can lie a bit, but the one on the wrist tells me you can remove the empty space on the north and south of the sub dials to make it more compact. Also the main plate on the back should have some cote de Geneve to...

Wow!

Excellent work

Minor comments, but a minute track would help for finer time...

Granularity. Blued hands would be useful for poor sighted individuals.

Not a fan of regulators...

 By: mdg : March 15th, 2019-14:15
...but would make an exception in this case. I love the way it looks hand-made. Clean it up too much and it would lose some charm imho. I actually cut out some paper in the watch dimensions (not height) and set it on my 7.25 inch wrist. It is quite a bit ...

Thank you mdg I'm really glad you like it.

Regarding the size of the watch, it's not small for sure but because the movement is relatively large a smaller case with the current design is nearly impossible. If I were to redesign the case and come up with a different position for the lugs I might be...

Would love to see wrist shots...

 By: mdg : March 19th, 2019-12:04
...and know how big your wrist is. My 40mm Sub is fine on my wrist as a reference. I just don’t see how this size could be worn by me without ‘hanging over.’ That said, it is beautiful and I applaud your effort. I think many of us have dreamed of doing so...

Beautiful

I have always enjoyed looking at the development of your wonderful watches. You can definitely tell a lot of love and hard-work has gone into them. I think you can sell it now if you wanted to. I think that the only things I would personally change would ...

Thank you for your input Spencer.

Those are great points what you mentioned. I think the biggest "upgrade" would be as you pointed out to make the Anglage more dramatic. Only problem with that is because of the layout of the bridges (they are very narrow) the available space for the Angla...

No problem

 By: Spencer Karrington : March 18th, 2019-10:48
Thank you for your reply. I am sure that you will find a way to make the Anglage more emphasized. Good luck and again, beautiful watch

Amazing achievement

Love the regulator sub dials

Thank you darrony.

I'm working on two new sub dial designs. I'll share some pictures as soon as I finish them.

Spectacular, David!

Your post and pics from last month caught my eye. It's beautifully designed and executed.
