The Bernhard Lederer Central Impulse Chronometer--A George Daniels Escapement with Dual Remontoirs!!!

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : August 25th, 2020-09:32
Bernhard Lederer makes complications for brands you thought did everything "in-house". Now, he's made only the second ever wristwatch with a George Daniels Double Impulse Escapement!!! This is the perfection of Breguet's Natural Escapement. Here we have a...

One of the most incredible new releases this year

 By: sham1 : August 25th, 2020-09:38
maybe this decade! Some may say that 44mm is too large but please bear in mind that the lugs are small and curved and the movement itself is 39.3mm in diameter! Keeping the watch case to 44mm is in itself an achievement!

It would be quite a sight on your wrist!

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : August 25th, 2020-09:44
It is calling to you!

Ha! Ha!

 By: sham1 : August 25th, 2020-16:18
The watch is calling to every single person on this forum!!! But can you imagine how easy would it be for anyone to service this watch?!

Yeah, I can see why Charles Frodsham offers the first service, whenever it comes, for free.

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : August 25th, 2020-16:45
They want to have a look at how it's been running and owners are so much better off going with them. Speaking of which, Frodsham, or the Struthers, people like that, could service this Lederer if Mr. Lederer was unavailable for some reason.

Reassuring to know, thank you.

Now to decide which bank to rob!!

What, you don't have a spare kidney? [nt]

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : August 25th, 2020-16:53

I have used up my spare one!

 By: sham1 : August 25th, 2020-19:51
But I would be most appreciative if you could spare yours. You may borrow the watch any time you wish!

How about a lobe of my liver?

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : August 25th, 2020-20:05
I don't drink, so it's in excellent condition! Given time and care, I can probably grow it back...

What a sacrifice!

Your generousity has set a new standard in this forum!

Just remember, Sham...

cats have very small livers. You'll need a lot more than a lobe from Spangles the Pirate Cat's liver to swing this particular watch.

Ok gentlemen

 By: sham1 : August 26th, 2020-16:12
I think I need more body parts donated. C'mon, it is for a good cause!!

Just take his whole liver. [nt]

Yeah what you said. [nt]

The movement is spectacular!

 By: NickO : August 25th, 2020-09:40
I wish the dial was equally inspired.

Ask for a custom dial on yours!

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : August 25th, 2020-09:43
I'm sure metalem would make a nice one for you.

I agree - both of those shown are less than attractive

 By: cazalea : August 25th, 2020-09:55
Characteristic of all engineer and watchmaker, and no marketing or design department. Conceptually it is attractive but perhaps even the back is overwhelming. Cazalea

My thoughts too [nt]

 By: Watchonthewrists : August 26th, 2020-05:00

That looks a lot thicker than 12mm...

 By: mdg : August 25th, 2020-10:59
...both dials are very imbalanced, and not in a good way. Nice movement though.

Da Vinci couldn't have conceived . . .

 By: Dr No : August 25th, 2020-12:02
. . . a more perfectly balanced design. Most impressive. Re the dial: favorable. Minutes hash marks are an excrescence, but it's purely functional otherwise, as any chronometer should be. If one of my kidneys were worth 128 Ch, I'd be tempted. ;-)

:) [nt]

no worries! [nt]

 By: brandon1 : August 25th, 2020-15:36

Incredible movement , looks stunning.

 By: Watchonthewrists : August 26th, 2020-04:58
Not sure if i like the dial layout a lot . Have to see it in person to give it a good look.

Live pics over on monochrome

monochrome-watches.com

Every important aspect of this watch I find too big.

 By: TheMadDruid : August 26th, 2020-11:10
On the dial side I think the opening is so large as to be distracting rather than revealing. The seconds hand (and this is an objection I have with many independents) is massive. The case is huge, both in diameter and height; and not necessarily so as man...

Movement is spectacular....

 By: darmatgre-1 : August 27th, 2020-10:09
Dial side should be discarded and something new should be created from scratch. Love the effort on the backside..... Darren

Final Dials! Twin seconds hands!

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : August 28th, 2021-11:59
What do you think? They rotate cw and ccw. Pic from monochrome. ...

Incredible.

 By: mj23 : August 28th, 2021-15:49
Love the movement side a lot more though.

Yeah, for sure.
