Very astute observation...

Mar 16, 2019,20:39 PM

For that to be so, the number '103' on the movement nameplate of the watch to be auctioned would have had to be carefully modified to '108' (quite achievable, one would have thought). That would mean, though, that the original '108' would still be in private hands, possibly owned (or known by) someone on this site. Does anyone have '108'? Alternatively: would M. Dufour be prepared to identify something about '108' that would answer the question, such as 'I know who it went to originally and that is the person auctioning the watch' or 'the '108' I made was not two tone'?
Such a stomach-turning feeling! Best wishes to the OP.
Cheers,
pplater.

This is a great find...

...and has me playing 'CSI.' If BMWMW has any straight-on, high-resolution shots it might show identical guilloche patterns. As the dials are made by hand I have to believe there will be identifiable variations...kind of like fingerprints.

Thanks

Many thanks to everyone for the recent posts and numerous direct messages. I am aware of the situation and have been working to resolve it for some time now. I hope to have good news for the forum soon.

happy for you that things are moving in positive direction....

 By: mahesh : March 18th, 2019-12:49
it is a grail - hunt for it.

Im sure it can't be sold in public

 By: KLC8 : March 21st, 2019-20:55
at least I am sure it can't get on the auction for sale, and for those dealers who know Dufour's work won't accept it as well, it is too small production, and too well known. good luck to you

Looks like it's been pulled from the auction...

...I hope that's good news for bmwmw!
